What is on offer

RetouchPicture is a web page that, once loaded, retouches a photograph using your browser’s own processor. Using it costs nothing, requires no account and grants you no licence beyond permission to load and run the page for that purpose. Republishing the site, embedding the tool in another product, or extracting the engine and shipping it as part of something else is not covered by that permission.

Your picture

Whatever rights you hold in a photograph you open are unaffected by opening it here. No claim is made over it, no licence is taken in it, and no copy of it is received — the file never reaches anyone operating this site, which is what makes that sentence a description rather than an undertaking.

What you are responsible for

That you are entitled to work on the photograph, and that the person in it would recognise what you did to them as reasonable. A retouched portrait circulates as a picture of a real person; the decision about what it shows and where it goes is made by whoever exports it, and that person is you.

Two uses deserve naming. An identity document — passport, visa, licence, exam or government registration — is checked against a face, and issuing authorities commonly treat a materially altered photograph as grounds for rejection. Nothing on this site is advice that a particular edit will be accepted. And an image of somebody else, altered and published without their agreement, is their problem caused by you; the caps here make that less likely and do not make it impossible.

No warranty

The tool is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Browsers differ, memory limits differ, and a full-resolution pass over a very large frame can fail on a device that cannot hold it. Keep the original file. The export writes a new one and never replaces what you opened, but a tab that runs out of memory takes its unexported work with it.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for loss or damage arising from use of this site, including lost work, a rejected document, or a result you were unhappy with. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid to use the tool, which is nothing.

Health and appearance claims

Nothing here is medical, dermatological or cosmetic advice. The heal brush changes pixels in a photograph. It does not treat, diagnose or affect a skin condition, and no claim about skin, ageing or appearance is made or implied by anything this tool does to an image.

Third parties

As the page ships today there are none. The typefaces are served from this domain, no analytics beacon is loaded, and no advertising is enabled yet, so nothing rendered here comes from another company. Google advertising is intended and begins serving when the domain is approved, governed at that point by Google’s terms rather than by these; the privacy page states what changes. Links to other sites are references, not endorsements of anything beyond the specific thing named.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change; the version on this page at the time you load it is the one that applies. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and nothing in them removes a statutory right you have as a consumer where you live.
